This A/C package is from Old Air Products. It is completely installable by the average gearhead. The only thing I could not do was custom fit the hoses and charge the system. The vents came in brackets suitable for installation under the dash but I choose to put them in the dash. The unit under the dash is not only A/C but heat and defrost as well and it does not reduce foot room at all.

The only disappoint with this product was the control panel that I selected for it. It is a little pricey and while I was securing the wires under the dash I put some pressure on the wires for the heat and defroster controls and the circuit board broke on the back of the unit. When I get the new on I will fill in the weak area with silicone and maybe it will last a little longer

Polished compressor was I think $10.00 extra and the mounting bracket depended on your exhaust and water pump type. I already had multiple belt pulleys so that wasn't a problem.

When this phase started I had an electric "pusher" fan in front of the radiator that just wasn't cutting it.. Old Air told me to go with a pull fan. This required a major rework to put the fan behind the radiator. This option was too noisy; so plan "C"; clutch fan with shroud which didn't cool enough at 110°, so plan "D";stop air from going over top of radiator. Still needed more cooling, plan "E"; squeeze the electric fan back in front for those really hot days. Now I can make a new shroud out of thinner metal. |

All the hoses go through the firewall very nicely and the 100 amp alternator Was needed to power everything and the electric windshield wipers that arn't any better than the old vacuum operatored ones. |
